Since attending the Dixie contest, I'm pumped for the new pattern season. Can't wait, hoping for a big turn out in Katy for this event. I'll be there.

Mike,
There is a lot of covered area at Space City. You'll be able to snag a shady spot no problems. I'm looking forward to some good competition in Advanced.

Outstanding. I will be flying Intermediate. I am going to bring my camper so I don't have to commute back and forth to Clear Lake... it would be roughly 360 miles if I drove round trip Friday, Saturday, and Sunday.

Space City has plenty of room for folks to park campers, travel trailers or motor homes. As for shade, here's a video shot in 2010 at the club's Heli fun fly. It provides a good aerial perspective of the facility.

Weather report for the weekend looks outstanding.

We just came back from the field the grass is mowed and trimmed (great job Dale and Leonard), and the lines drawed (great job Glenn). The weather forecast looks great also, I think it is going to be a great contest.

Hey Glen, I got back from our field a couple of hours ago. I saw Art out there. He will be leaving early tomorrow morning to head down. Ron Shirley and I will be going down also. I have a good feeling Lance will go since he has been practicing allot lateley. Dave Cotton will not be able to attend since he has a prior committment actaully in Galveston at thaat time. It's been a few years since I last attended the Space City contest I'm looking forward to it.

The Baton Rouge boys will be out in full-force. Barney Miller is already on his way. Brian Clemmons and I will be driving in late tonight. Not sure if Hebert is going to make it, I think he may have to work this weekend, but we'll have one each for Intermediate, Advanced, and Masters.

The SCRC club's 5th annual spring pattern classic was a success. There were 31 pilot which flew 5 rounds. The weather was perfect by Texas standards, high 80s, low 90s with light to moderate winds from the south which lessened impact of the humidity. Yes, summer in Texas has arrived.
The following attachments include the standings and a listing of equipment used by the competitors.
I want to express my deepest thanks to SCRC club members for their continued support and the pilots who attended to make this 5th annual spring pattern classic event a huge success. Pictures will be posted soon.
