Default Supra Retracts

I just purchased an EZ Barracuda w/retracts (clearance item at local HobbyTown). It says to use Supra 30 retracts. I am having trouble locating any on the internet. Can someone point me in the right direction? Is there a different brand that would fit without any modifications?

Thank-you in advance

Robart .15-.40 size should fit with very little, if any, mods needed. For the Supra's, check with Central Hobbies, Singapore Hobby or Hobby Net Japan. I see them on the Hobby Net Japan site. Browse down the left had side to Main Landing Gear, then OK Models Randinggear (no, I'm not making this up). There you will see the Supra 30 size listed. I haven't ordered from these folks myself but several others here have and have repeatedly say the deal went smoothly. I have ordered from Singapore Hobby, http://www.singahobby.com , and they too are top notch.

Have not verified it for my self but the Great Planes purple retracts are supposedly a dead copy of the Supras.

I don't know about the smaller sizes, but the .60 size GP retracts are in fact copies. But, I wouldn't call them dead copies. The set I had were very loose compared to Supra's and the blocks were easily broken on a side load.

Here is a link to the Ok Models site which gives dimensions for the Supra retracts of all sizes. You should be able to match up a more readily available gear based on this info.

If you need 30DX Supra retracts, MRC should have them since they are the distributor of US.

Singapore, Hobbynet.jp also have them, but I would try Singapore hobbbies. Getting parts ordered from Japan costs more than Singapore and often about $20 more than US if they are available here.

GreatPlanes does not produce the 30 size. 40 & 60 size GP are exact copies of Supra.

Using Robart is a good substitute I guess.

GP must have revised their retracts to be exact copies of the Supras. I was being kind in my earlier post. The set I had were junk compared to Supras. I'll take another look at them again. It sure would be nice if they are in fact equal quality these days.
