Hi,
I don't know too much about it but a good friend of mine told me that ZNLine is working on an Edge 540T in 2x2 format for A.A. and 3D. He said that they are going to make a complete CAD wood kit. I guess he is going to build a couple of prototypes this winter. He did not give me lots of details but he held up his fingers to show a really thick airfoil. Slot and tab type construction, all the goodies of modern CAD construction.
It should be exciting. In the spring when I went to the shop to buy some fuel I saw some fuselage sketchings that looked like and Edge. The thing was really high on the side with some patterney dimensions.
It's good timing because I'm getting in the mood to build a all wood airplane again.

Yes my friend, things are being worked.
We have cut the parts for one wing and have a couple of corrections to make to a couple of pieces but the design is superb. The wing slots together in just a few minutes (the big job is just separating and cleaning the parts up nicely). Once everything is in place and aligned, and it is really self aligning, it is just a matter of hitting the joints with CA and then a little medium or thick CA and accelerator for fillets along the higher stress areas.
I think that one could punch out and clean up all of the pieces in a day and then complete the basic frame up the next day without problems. Add another day for sheeting what needs to be sheeted and additional details and it would be ready to start laying out installations and soon covering.
If there is an interest in this airplane, let me know and I will seek permission for some photos as things go together.
Regards,
Mark

OOOOOH- sounds like another 'MUST HAVE" kit - maybe 2.
Can you give us more details, MArk? Plug-in wings? Glass cowl and pants? Firewall mounted engine mount? Approximate price including shipping to USA (or will it be available through Central Hobbies?)?
Thanks!
PS - please post pictures - we need something to drool over :-)

Well, it lost steam, got steam, lost steam, got steam...I think its starting to steam again. The fuse is about complete...glass parts are getting molded. I can tell you this. Its the strongest airplane for the weight I have seen. There lays now the question of affordable production...how...what...where. I stopped thinking about it. I sleep better. It will appear, the question is when.
