Default Shinden by Hebert Competition Designs

Hey Guys,

Wanted to share with you a re release of Bryan Heberts Shinden model. Bryan has gone back to the drawing board on the scheme and has come up with two very nice looking schemes. The airplane also now is going to be available in a Electric Version and a Glow Version. Bryan has worked very hard with the manufacturer to take a lot of weight out of the airplane so that it will accept an Electric setup no problem. Also the airplane will still be well under weight in the glow version. These models will be available thru Bryan himself and his company Hebert Competition Designs. The models will sell for $1500 dollars. I have attached a few pictures that have been received from the factory. More will be posted when the airplanes arrive. Right now they are in transit but by boat and Bryan hopes to have these models in about 4 weeks time. I hope to have Bryan chime in here shortly with more information. Until then please check out his website as more information will be available soon on all his models including the New Alferma and Soon to be Allure design. http://www.hebertcompetitiondesigns....igns.aspx?ID=1

Beautiful design!
Do you have a bottom view picture of the yellow version? (there is no way my eyes will distinguish top from bottom on the white version)
Nice price point.
What is the construction and covering of wings and stab?
Who is the manufacture?

Thanks, Dan

Nice looker!! 1500 is inexpensive for a fully painted, lightweight, 2m x 2m pattern plane

I know a number of the guys I used to fly with loved their shindens and we have a couple up here in the northwest.

Two questions. The models show are electric? is the red model glow since I cannot see it there is a tunnel for a muffler?

I must agree that is this is a full painted plane and can meet the weight requirement and still maintain its excellent flight charistics then it is a very good buy.

If you go to the link attached in the first post it shows pictures of the bottom of the yellow one. The airplanes are all composite and the manufacture is Xtreme Composites( same people that make the Griffin.

Thanks A.C.

I will now import my own designs and support them myself ,This will keep the Quality to my standards and I will be involved with all aspects on the models.

The Shinden was ahead of it`s time almost to big for the 160YS and Early in the composite F3A world. It`s a big Platform, a Solid design Full two Meters and 1100 Square wings.
I have been Flying Brandon`t old Shinden for testing with a YS175 cdi A perfect match (the one he placed 6`th in masters with at the Nats) Brandon landry also won Advanced at the Nat`s the year before with this design .with 10 flights on the borrowed airplane he used.

It`s a Very Stable flier and a Awesome snapper Perfect for the new patterns in both AMA and FAI.

My Team Brett, AC. Glen , Steven Bird ,Scott Mcharg will have this airplane flying with a Contra, and YS ,so I will be able to address all the questions about this model to any system used.
I`m excited to bring this model back to the public it still has a loyal following and I have been Asked many times about the possibility of selling them again
So, I revamped the layup process and updated it with a Composite painted Canopy ,taller Gear ,lighter wings , better wing tube , and a new paint sceme.
the intro price is $1500.00

However I ordered 10 and they are all sold before they came in LOL.
So I have placed another order if you want one contact me and I can give you a time frame of availability and colors

Stay tuned I have Many new products being developed from new designs to control horns and Custom aluminum Valve covers for the YS ( Thanks to Bill Clark,My Metal Master and part of my team.

One of your most beautiful designs for sure Brian, and it looks like it was just designed.

Bryan,

Do you have the data handy on this model?

Specifically size and weight of parts. It might be helpful. Or if the info is on the website, a link to the spot

Matt
I don`t have weights yet I`m waiting on the factory for that.
The electric version "Shinden LTE "is Layed up with a different method for weight reduction and is lighter than the glow version.
The last Shinden I had imported to me ( the one Brandon Landry flew) and Matt flew this year at the Nats with wet setup powered by YS 160 was 10 pounds 4 ounces with no special setup. and a clear plastic canopy

They will be very comparable to the Griffin overall in weight Except,
The model uses a 3.5" spinner and is a full 78.5" long and 78.5 " span
The fuse is 7" wide at the wing and 14.5" tall the fuse has a lot of girth.
It`s still very current for todays pattern, and actually has features we will be moving toward again in FAI.

Bryan

I just got weights from the factory.
The electric version will be 2250- 2300 grams. this includes gear, pants, and wing tube.
This will be reduced more on the next order due in Feb.

The glow version 2400-2450 at the same level of completion. chin, canopy mounted with quick latch. servo plate installed,

Hi Matt,
The next shipment of 10 will probably be in March. Your custom Shinden will be included in that shipment.
The factory is interested in your project.
This new batch is nearly sold as well I only have a few left.

ORIGINAL: TimBle

will the Shinden accept a gasoline engine?
I'm counting on it!! OS GT33, on canister or pipe, haven't decided which. I'll be doing a report for Bryan's website.
