Dana come on down...
Thanks for the warm invite JR. I may not make it down there this year after all: my sister-in-law passed away and I will stick around with my Bro.

You guys have a good contest and please let us know how it turns out here on this thread. Wishing all good weather, good flying and no mid airs!

P.S. Will you and/or F3AU come up to Pocono this year? So sorry I cannot reciprocate from the D1 side, I really wanted to get to VA to fly with you guys!

Jr,

The club should consider posting some photos of the field, etc on the club web page, just a suggestion.

Thanks'

Bill, not sure if you have looked on google maps. If you type in "pure village landing strip" it should take you to the middle of the runway, in sattelite view is shows a road going thru the creek to the north of the shelter. That is the creek crossing. There have been 30 foot trailers thru the creek pulled by Ford duallys before so it is possible. My only suggestion is that the creek will rise with any rainfall in Harrisonburg as alot of the runoff comes down the creek. If there were any rain on Saturday night or Sunday morning then the creek could be fairly deep when you are ready to leave as it takes many hours to get back to normal 6-8" deep levels

Bill we are begining to work on new material for our web site. The creek normal level is about 6 inches , we have a bridge but it's only for walking across. Weather for Saturday and Sunday is partly cloudy, in the 80s. The couldy might be good we could start earlier since it might block the sun.

Ok here's the lastest weather. It's stil a GO . Weather for Friday is rain , with it stopping late in the evening. SATURDAY in the low 80s with partly cloudy . SUNDAY mid 80s partly cloudy. The weather model show the weather tracking east of us, along the coast . By Saturday morning thing should be clear up for us.

The Shanandoah classic was a great success with 30 registered contestants and some very nice weather... finally for a D2 contest! Joseph and I would like to thank all of the District 2 folks (and a few of the District 1 and 4 folks) that supported the raffle, T-shirts and Stick Planes. Thank you to JR for running the contest and as CD, donating the raffle proceeds of $92 to the U.S. Team. This year has changed our perspective totally of the hobby- the fundraising and all that is involved in preparing for the World Championships. There as so many of you to thank for the support to the team at has been amazing and we are proud to be part of District 2.

Thanks, again,
Don and Joseph

That was a cool contest, I'm glad I made it. Cool vibe, great turnout, and interesting field. And I flew at least a couple of decent rounds to boot.
