The website link for contest registration from the D7 page now points to the NSRCA contest calendar. Thanks to Derek K. and Robert B! This should enable you to register for any upcoming contest in D7.

I guess I'm missing something. Where on the NSRCA site can I register, the link takes you to the results page.

It displays a results link... this isn't the results page. Click the event name and once you're displaying the event then you'll be able to register.

RE: Superstition Pattern Contest AZ D7
Since we had to mark Jarvis absent this weekend, I took it upon myself to report on today's results
Nineteen pilots and Vic showed up to brave the warm breezes of the desert. After a nervous start things settled down and we had a pretty great day. Everyone cooperated doing their judging duties and drank lots of water so no one had to be carted out.
There were two close calls, on one flight Rusty's battery puffed up and split, but he was able to dead stick in without any damage. The other incident was Dalesbeautiful Angel's Shadow lost power on takeoff, he flew straight ahead and landed in the cactus and whatever else is out there and the only damage was to his pride and one wheel pant lost it's nose.

A huge thank you for putting this contest on! You guys did a fantastic job. Superstition Airpark is a great place to fly and the AMA club rolled out the red carpet for us. Additionally, thank you to all of the out of town people who came to support the contest.
We had very challenging conditions with a strong, near direct cross wind for most of the weekend. There were many hard fought battles at this contest.

RE: Superstition Pattern Contest AZ D7
And a few more .... back in 2009I flew in a (pardon me) IMAC contest and took a picture of the welcome cactus. Can anyone see any difference in 4 years?
The last picture is the group that drove the furtherest award. The Nor-Cal guys won it.......there is a joke about winning the year end award somewhere in here....

Oh, what the heck, Here's a picture of my IMAC plane back then, Rusty said it was a pretty plane, I wonder if he remembers that. Also a picture of the field, a big difference. That was Janurary 19, 2009, super cold. The big cub in the background is Bill Hemple's 40%'er.

Thank you Gary, Ken and John, and every one else who put in the time and effort to put on such a well run show. Congrats you guys, everything was smooth, and your facility was top notch. It was well worth the drive from So. Cal. Jennifer and I wish to thank you for making us feel welcome, and we look forward to doing it again next time. Here are some more pix.
One more thing. I thought it was awesome how you supported the new guys, they had a great time, and hopefully they will stick with it. You are great ambassadors to the sport.

Just echoing my thanks to Gary and the great folks at Arizona Model Flyers! It was a lot of fun and GREAT to see some new folks from the club getting into pattern! There should be a "caution" sticker on "gateway" models like the Osiris and the Vanquish: "Caution: This model will change your attitude about every other model you own and will likely lead to a life-long addiction to the sport of pattern flying" :-) I'm looking forward to seeing some of y'all at some of the CA events!
Gary, you should think about expanding the contest to become a D6/D7 shootout! Y'all are perfectly located for it.

RE: Superstition Pattern Contest AZ D7
Oh! And HUGE thanks to Dale O for being a "driving machine" to haul us NorCal guys to + from the contest. Believe it or not, he drove a full ELEVEN+ hours straight through last night with some incredibly challenging wind conditions. I think he had to hold left rudder in for almost the whole drive, and that Sprinter presents a massive profile to the wind. I don't think I've ever seen wind power generators spinning that fast... I'm pretty sure I would have dropped due to fatigue after just a few hours of driving in that wind!
Despite the amazing lack of damage to the Angel's shadow after the deadstick takeoff, I think Dale's Karma bank still has a significant positive balance! :-)

Many thanks to Gary, John B. and all of the Arizona Model Flyers who worked hard and put on a great contest. You all ran a top notch contest. The battles in Advanced and Masters came down to the last round and were amazingly tight.
Thanks again,

Great contest, great weather including the challenging crosswind. It is really good to see a second Arizona contest again. Already planning for next year and hope to have more New Mexico representation for 2014.
