BACKUP/Redundant batteries

Has anyone run a backup system with a DigiSwitch? I bought a plane that uses one set to about 5.5 volts and was thinking of running a parallel Jaccio regulator at 6.0 volts. It seems to work okay but there is some current being drawn from the battery supplying the Digiswitch even when the Jaccio is supplying the bulk of the current to the system. Anyone see any problems?
Removing the digi-switch would leave a big hole in the fuse.

Jim,
The DualBatt Digiswitch usually does not discharge both packs evenly, they are almost always different, I say almost as Tuny's always does and I am using Emcotec's so do not know if it is like that to all Digiswitches. The Emcotec DualBatt does discharge the packs evenly, but that is just information as that is what I use now.

The DualBatt Digiswitch usually does not discharge both packs evenly, they are almost always different, I say almost as Tuny's always does and I am using Emcotec's so do not know if it is like that to all Digiswitches. The Emcotec DualBatt does discharge the packs evenly, but that is just information as that is what I use now.

+1. These are what I have been using for about 2 years now. Since I had one on-hand, that's what went into the Nuance last summer. They go by the name of PowerBox Sensor in the States, at least that's what mine was labeled.

I have the same switch Pablo has. It is a PowerBox Sensor.

It acts as a redundant setup diverting power to both outputs in case one battery goes out. Otherwise it acts as 2 independent regulator switch systems. I use mine with one output to power the Rx the other to power my CDI. If the RX battery is unplugged the CDI battery will power both the CDI and the Rx with no interruption. The batteries drain independently so you could keep a back up fully charged.
I also have an EMS Ultimate Battery Backer. It does not work well with my Spektrum radio system. When I unplug the main battery there is a momentary lag until the Rx powers up with the back up battery. This probably would be okay in an emergency but I decided to go with the PowerBox instead.
