OK Everyone,
So far the pilot count is one from Chicago, (Here now) two coming from New Mexico, two coming from Oklahoma
and over 10 coming from D3. That's 15 pilots that we don't normally have. Add them to our average pilot
count of 35 and you get 50!!! What the heck is going on??? Is it the Hospitality? The beautiful flying field?
The food on Friday "and" Saturday night? The Margarita's? The band? The weather (High 75 Low 65) No rain?
Hummmm???... I guess the answer is in the question!!!
If anyone of you miss this contest it will be a crying shame!!!

Whether forecast showed 30% chance of rain today, We didn't get any, not even a cloud. Our pond is almost completely dry. Clear bule skies all day. Weather underground shows a 30% chance of rain for Saturday. Scattered stuff. We don't get any of it at the field. Haven't had any rain in over two months. Had a good flying session today. Mark Hunt showed up to practice with us. The weather is going to be great, and everything is set up. It just doesn't get better than this, if it did, GOD would keep it for himself. We've got some great give aways again this year. Plenty of pleasant surprises. Don't miss out, come on over and pass a good time.

Please don't go by the weather app on your phone. The local weather is for rain Friday night with clearing skies for Saturday morning.
With sunshine the rest of the weekend. Most of the rain they are talking about will be off shore.

Lovely camping weather , Had a great time!
Jon And Monte put on a great event again . a Live band, Good Cooking, and a good family event. And the flying part was fun too!
Kinda sad to see the season ending.

Thanks to all who came and participated. We had a great time hosting the event, and socializing with all our participants. We truly appreciated your support of our event.
PS; The food was awsome, and the band was a big hit. I even think there may be a you tube video of Don Ramsey dancing out there somewhere.

Flying was great. People were fun! Food was awesome. Weather was sweet. Don't know how it could have been any better. Monte, John and Jim put on a great contest. Chris, Ed Roy, John, and the Band, put on a heck of a party! If you didn't have a good time then you will never have a good time!! Thank you RAMS and all your members for putting on a classic event!!
PS Congrats to Art Wagner as the well deserved Ray Rhodes trophy Winner for 2013!!

Monte,
We're kicking ourselves for not trusting the aviation weather prog charts. Everyone got spooked by midweek forecast from weather.com and weather underground sites. Given the forecast from these and a couple of other sites everyone started opting out. Hopefully next year we'll give a bit more time to trusting aviation metrics should there be conflicts in the reporting metrics. From all of us in D3 and especially the Eglin gang we're sorry we couldn't make and give you guys a run for the trophies.
Regards,
Mike

Yeah Nick, you'll miss a good time. We certainly understand as it is a long way to come. We're all looking forward to next year, and having you guys join us. We're excited to see the competition between D3 and D6 get fired up again. It makes for some excellent competition and motivation.
