Hi Luke. I'm planning on being there. I noticed on another flyer that the contest is 8:00 - 5:00. Is 8:00 the actual competition time (wheels up), or when practice flights can start? That is if practice flights will be allowed in the morning...
Looking forward to it!

Flying site opens at 8:30am for practice.
Due to sun issue, contest will start at 10am.
There will be a snack shack and BBQ lunch provided by Chef Tim.
See you there!

Oh hell another one I will have to miss. I was wanting to bring my Aurora and fly some classic. My wife has a social get together in Sac. so I had planned on getting in some pylon practice while up there. Oh well, put me down for the Bob Witacre memorial in Hollister. Have a great contest guys!

I'm not sure what I'm going to do Chris. The plan was to get the plane ready for this contest and hopefully get a little practice in so I don't completely embarrass myself. The plane could probably do it at this stage, long way to go on trimming, but it's good enough to fly. I'm not really sure about me.
My other plan was to bring the wife and kids and throw up a EZ-up and let them enjoy the day, while I help judge and just see people. I can't bring the family AND the airplane unless I drag a trailer, and that's not an option this weekend really.
Not sure what we're doing yet. Next couple of days will tell.
Glad you are up and moving around though!!!

I'm thinking about driving down from Sac on Friday instead of early Sat. Anyone have hotel suggestions? Would want a place with outside access to the room, instead of lugging planes through the hallways.
Thanks for any info.

Great weather, 21 pilots today: 4 Sportsman, 6 Intermediate, 2 Advanced, 6 Master and 3 FAI. Good job everyone!
Thanks to those contest judges and volunteer judges Mack Petterson, Ron Davis and Jon Carter, also the score master Peter Vogel, it is impossible to run a contest without their helps.
Here are some pix.
