2nd annual Bear Mountain Flyers / F3A Unlimited Wild West Pattern Showdown
Greetings All,
Last April, more than forty F3A pilots made their way to Arvin California to attend the 1[SUP]st[/SUP] annual Bear Mountain Flyers Wild West Pattern Showdown ! They were greeted with perfect weather, a premier flying facility, great food, tons of raffle prizes, and enjoyed the camaraderie of new and old friends.
This April 15th through the 17th, the best gets even better when the Bear Mountain Flyers in association with F3A Unlimited present the 2nd annual Wild West Pattern Showdown.
Make your plans now to join us for three days of non-stop pattern action. We'll be flying all AMA classes including FAI Silver. FAI will fly 5 rounds of “F” and one round of unknowns. Designer trophies you can be proud to display will be awarded to third place. Please check out the attached flyer for additional contest details. Pre-registration is now available on the NSRCA website.
This year, our club and F3A Unlimited will be pulling out all the stops to produce a truly first class event. For those attending from out of town, we want to give you more reasons to make the trip than just great weather. Our field will be open and available for dawn to dusk practice for the week prior to the event. For your convenience, we've obtained a group discount at the Hampton Inn (on route 58 in Bakersfield) which offers superior accommodations at an affordable price. Please contact the Hampton at 661-321-9424 and be sure to reference the Bear Mountain Pattern Event when booking.
That's it for now. Please make your reservations early for what promises to be one of the highlights of the contest season.....!

A couple of reminders;
If you are planning to attend, please pre-register ! It facilitates the planning of every aspect of the contest from scoring to meals. We appreciate you taking a moment to visit the NSRCA website.
For those of you who are unable to join us for the start of the event on Friday April 15[SUP]th[/SUP], we will be registering late arriving pilots starting at 8:00AM Saturday morning. Although there is nothing we can do to make up for missed rounds, a Saturday start will put you squarely in the thick of all the action.
We want to extend a special invitation to aspiring pattern pilots. If you’ve been on the fence and wondering how to take that first step toward giving pattern flying a try, please let us know and we will match you with a coach / caller who will support you during the event. You need to take the first step, we’ll do the rest. Any AMA legal aircraft may be used in the Sportsman class.
Our club members have been hard at work preparing for the contest. We’ve upgraded and expanded our already spacious pit and flight line area and we’re looking forward to seeing you all for a fantastic event !
