Next year, 2017, the Cajun Nats will be a three day contest. The event will start on Wednesday with the field open for practice and a "Tall Tales night" around the campfire, roasting hot dogs and telling stories. Dust off the old stories and get them ready, make a few notes. Then on Thursday open practice, followed by Jam night with wood fired pizza. Bring and instrument and join in or get up and sing along. Friday, the competition will start with a pilots meeting at 10:30 am and the first plane lifts off at 11:00 am. We will fly 2 rounds on Friday and have the Friday night supper as usual. Then Saturday we will start with a pilots meeting at 9:00 am, first plane lifts off at 9:30 am. We will try to fly 3 rounds on Saturday. Then have the Saturday night banquet with a live band. Sunday we have the pilots meeting at 9;00 am and start flying at 9:30 am. We will finish the 5th round of any classes that did not get them in on Saturday and then run one final round for a 6 round contest. Pilots will have 2 drops, so if you can't get there until Saturday, you can still compete by getting in 4 rounds (you just won't get to drop any, all 4 will count). This should allow us to finish up by 2:30 or 3:00 and get everyone on the road home at a respectable time.
