170DZ prop size
I've purchased a fairly new, about 125 flights, DZ 170. I know prop size is slightly dependent on the the air frame. What seems to be the preferred prop size and about what RPM does the 170 like to run at?
Thanks!

Hi Ken, Additional off topic question if you don't mind. Did I read somewhere you fly with a Hitec Aurora 9 radio for pattern. Do you have the capability to adj expo on the elevator both directions up and down? My Airtronics is aging and I really like the feel in my hands of the Aurora.
Thanks,
Mike

The A9 only has one setting for expo. That is a percentage. That percentage is the same for both sides of center. I do like the ease of programing the A9, but would now opt for the 9X as it is the new model. I've been very happy with my A9 but it will occasionally turn on with a blank screen. Maybe once out of every 75 power ups. Turn it off and back on and all is OK. Personally I've been considering the Taranis as my next TX. "They" say programing is a little more complex but it will do anything you wish. I've not held one in my hands so can't comment on how it feels. I did purchase a couple of the FrSky RX's for my A9. I bought the Delta 8 and the 4 channel for my DLG. http://alofthobbies.com/radio/frsky-...ompatible.html So far, they have been flawless.

I have done some research on the Taranis too. Very powerful operating system for the money. I have held a Taranis tranny and it did feel a little cheapish compared to the A9. Now if we could get Hitec to install Frsky OS in a A9 tranny that would be ticket LOL. I did see one competitor at this years NATS who flew the Taranis so it is a viable pattern alternative. To me whatever makes pattern fun is the important factor. I enjoy tinkering with other alternatives for pattern.
