I haven't run any YS larger then my DZ 140 however the Engel 16x10 three blade prop I have on it is a perfect match. I see that they make an 18x11 and 19x11

Is there a formula that determines what the size should be when switching from a two blade prop to a three blade.

MAVROS,

Contact Bryan At CK AERO. I believe he's been doing some 3 blade testing with the YS 185.

Thanks everyone,

It appears that changing from a 2 blade prop to a 3 blade you need to decrease the Diameter by 10% .
The propeller needs to be of the same design and the pitch must stay the same.

So much easier if APC just make one......18 x 10.5 please

The Engel 18x11 should work very well for you. I flew the airplane with my 140 DZ and Engel 16x10 yesterday and am still amazed at how well the prop works. They are also much lighter then what an APC would be and trust me I am a big fan of APC. The APC factory is only 1/2 hour travel from my home and I fly with Robert on occasion.

Interested in 3 blade as well for my 175. I'll have to try the Engel.

Hi all,

I have finally tried the 3 blade ENGEL prop on the YS 185 GALACTIK.and plastic Gator spinner.
The constant speed was very impressive .

Unfortunately the injector hose TUBE C split on the second flight causing a lean run which made the spinner fly off .

I will order the true turn spinner next and give it another go so stay tuned.Back to the 2 blade APC and start practice for next years comp......cant wait .......

regards
