hey guys,
this is probably in the wrong forum but it is for a pattren plane. is possible to convert an L to a DZ.[&:] just because it would be cheaper for the owners of a L to get a DZ for the new models coming in today.

I don't think this is easily possible as the entire fuel systems, position of the pumps, and the way the fuel system works are entirely different.
Am interested in what everyone else says.

Not cost effective at all...
New parts would include:
case
head
carb body
throttle barrel
backplate assembly with rotor
cam gear
crank shaft
pump assembly
Oh yea need an Oring set and a gasket set too!
You are looking at taking the piston, sleeve and ring out of the L and then buying all the parts that build a DZ. Its pretty close to that as a functional deal.
In case this doesn't convey the situation the 140DZ is not even the same technology and functional system as the 140L, FZ, FZ2 (sport), any of the 120's 91's or the 110...Its a totally different theory of operation....You are looking at $500-600 worth of parts and that's at a discounted price and a deal on the parts...The motor is only $600 now on sale at Central Hobbies...Of course this USD not AUS.....
Not saying it can't be done..just it would be foolish.
