Most of the planes suggested so far are quite tricky to buy in the UK, and i know that the Zen series are very highly priced.
The Mk 3D dancer i saw flew very well, but again around £310 from probuild.
The capiche 50 is the best plane i own, and flies 3d and pattern very well for a 50 size plane. In my opinion it has a better feel going from 3d to pattern and vice versa than the 2m ZNline Majestic which i had a go on the other day.
The capiche comes in around 5lbs with a Saito 72 or YS 63, and a good deal lighter with the West 36.
Think its around 58 inch span.
Here are some pics of mine.

Try the Tai Ji 60, with a 90fx or (even better) a YS 110 this plane is fabulous, a friend of mine is on his second now and I can vouch for it's quality both in terms of the construction and the way it flies. Try Steve Webb for a source.
This same friend is also currently building an Onyx 140 which looks good. There's a few niggling construction issues but nothing too severe and I have heard good things about it's flying performance (it's essentially just a Focus 1 so should be pretty good!). Anyway, it is looking to be good value for money if you want to go up to 2m.

Or if you want 3d performance too (just read your original post properly ...) try the ZN Synergy 90. I use this as my back-up pattern model at the comps and it is an awesome performer, and is an exceptional 3D model too. It's a bit more expensive than the Tai Ji but is quite simply the best 90 size model around.

We think we can suggest you an excellent pattern flying model, that you also can do 3D flying.
The model is new and its name is EPSILON, it's for 60-90 engines.
Here I'm attaching some pics and you can check the video in the next address:
