Default OS 1.60 Pattern Setup

I've had some questions, and curiousity, so decided to make a page where my setup is completely described. Thanks to Gene Maurice, who got me on the Perry Pump, and the Mac's pipe; couldn't have had the consistency I've enjoyed without his help. Another person that was instrumental in my success is Dave Lockhart; I've known him for years, and a more helpful guy on 2 strokes and tuning can't be found! No wonder he's a "JR Red Shirt" guy....they get the good ones! (I know, Futaba does ALSO - not slighting them a bit!!)

Enjoy!

Thanks for the info, I think I'm using the 160 in my next ship.

Thanks again,

Ken

I am using Bob's setup in my 2M and it runs like clockwork with the perry pump setup. I am sincerely thankful to OS for making this motor, otherwise a 2M powerplant would be really tough on my wallet.

Thanks as allways for the info (I have run the ST2300 for a few years with lots of success due to your page..)
But two minor requests. One the PN for the Pipe from Macs, and you just need to edit the first line a little to make referance to bearings,
1. OS 1.60 - after break in with a 17 x 12, needle should be about 1 1/4 to 1 1/8 open. Run the stock one until it gets rough; then replace it with the 2RS-SS6904 from Boca, or the same one from www.afcbearings.com but it's the SS two rubber seal bearing. Replace it once, no after run needed, run dry at end of day, forget it. You will wear out before it does.
Just after the needle settings - just add that you are talking about the bearing problems they have. Only reason I know about it is We where discussing this at the field with the Dist 1 VP from NSRCA last week. Like I said thanks and I may be trying one in one of the two planes I hope to put together this winter.

thanks for the info Bob, nice page.

I have to ask, do you know what the settings are for a broken in 1.60fx, for the high and low end?
