Default Foam source for cores?

Can anyone suggest a good source for cutting your own foam cores? In the past I have used a blue foam in Canada call SyrofoamSM. I'm curious where I can find some of the lighter white foam, say 4" thick? Thanks

It all depends on whether you want to build sheeted wings or other parts. For wings, I'd go with white Styropor-type of foam, you can find it in almost every hobby shop until 15kg/m3. I found 10kg/m3 (very light) only here: [link=http://www.suterkunststoffe.ch/pdf/produkteuebersicht.pdf]Swiss Composite (PDF)[/link], but haven't tried it yet.
For building hulls or airframes you might want to use blue foam such as Roofmate, again you can find various measures in your local hobby shop.

This is where our club ordered foam.... I'm not sure what they charge for shipping, we picked it up from their location in Wichita, Ks. We ordered 3/4 lb. foam in 4X8 sheets... 3", 4" or 5" thick. Very good quality.

Hope this helps

Look in your local yellow pages for packaging manufacturers. Many medium to large cities are home to foam manufacturers for local manufacturing companies.
