Would like to know how many folks on RCU actually competed in a sanctioned pattern event in 2004, and whether or not they are/were members of NSRCA anytime during 2004. Just trying to get a feel of the total cross section of folks on RCU.
Please respond by December 20th, thank you!

Lots more NSRCA members here than one would think eh?
And I'm having to seriously rethink my position on this election. Some things have come to light lately I had no clue about, and I don't think most people did either.

Hi,
NSRCA No. 1133; competed in several SPA (Senior Pattern Association) contests in 2004.
Flew AMA prior to turn-a-round as Novice, expect to resume AMA in 2005.

I'd like to give pattern a try this up comming season as an alternative to IMAC, which has gotten too costly IMHO.

You got quite a few responses Bobby. It's interesting to me that almost 30% of the respondents fly pattern but don't compete or don't compete in pattern but would like to. We need all of the folks who are on the fence (hopefully half of the 30%) to get into pattern competition.

Was an NSRCA member back in the 80's and early 90's and flew pattern with a passion anywhere anytime. Second at the first N-Pac to David Shulman (Yeah I choked the final round and droped to second). Then I got married............. Wife, kids, new house new business put all that on hold for the next ten years. Now that all the dust has settled I'm making a come back strong as I can and trying to get ready for the upcoming years contests. What sucks is finding EVERYTHING in the model shop is now dead from the wife leaving the chemicals for the swimming pool uncovered. Everything is rusted or corroded to the point of becoming just a building tool. Scratch one YS1.20AC that always ran perfectly, one each PCM10 transmitter most of the switches work sometimes.
My wing sheeting table is marble so thats ok but the stand I built out of 2x2 metal box tubing is rusted but sanding and a new coat of paint will take care of it. All the hand tools were pretty much rusted hulks of metal. In the process of building a new model shop behind the new house (should have built the new house garage 3.5 stalls instead of two but I was stupid). Oh well nothing like seeing the big Brown truck pull up every few days with new goodies
.......just hope the wife doesn't check the mail and see my credit card bill before I get it and pay it before she knew there was a balance.

Welcome back! I'm sure you'll quickly become the one to beat.... sad about your equipment, but it's a good thing also. The way this worked out, you get to by new stuff!!! Way good.
Regarding the poll - sitting at 25% still....SURELY this doesn't actually represent the TOTAL of "pattern people" on RCU in the US ??? You all think it does??? There are only 126 RCU users who are precision aerobatic folks???

I am a NSRCA member. I have only competed locally in Canada so far. I will be going to some contests in the US for sure this coming season. I am disappointed I didn't make it to any this year. I heard they were lots of fun.
