Nevermind, in a brief moment of clarity I figured it out.

Well, I'm curious to know how you solved it? Just in case it happens to me!

I used very sharp razor knife, a sharpened piece of 5/16th brass tubing. Cut around the phenolic and the rib, slid the brass over it and twist cut it loose. reinstalled it at 6" and made a foam plug that I capped with epoxy and micro ballons and Viola or Violin or whatever, it was fixed
