Hello all-
I've decided to get serious about flying pattern this year. Last year I bought a Thunder Tiger Imagine 50 to practice with but made some rookie mistakes with the setup, and lost interest as a result. (I fit a 61 engine which required a bunch of tail ballast, and it flew like a brick) Now I am re-fitting it with a 46 and making some control linkage improvements, with the intention of 1) seriously practicing and 2) getting a little competition under my belt.
I'd love to hear from anyone else using this plane, whatever tips they have for setup, etc. At least for a little while I will be using this plane, even tho I know it probably isn't the best thing out there... but I can get them really cheap and so I will have plenty of spares/etc. It does seem to fly pretty well, even with the mistakes I made first time around.
2nd question, are there any pattern events in Ohio? I don't see any listed in the AMA magazine unless I missed something. I want to spectate and see what it's all about.
TIA!
