I am new to pattern, practice the sportsman routine with my Tiger 60.
I'm sure this question has been asked many times in this forum but please allow me to ask it again.
I would like to get an ARF pattern plane with a wing size of approximately 70 inches and will take a 100 sized engine. Does anyone in this pattern forum have a good recommendation for me?
Thanks.
Dick.

Welcome to the Pattern Ranks
For a 100 engine in Sportsman take a look at the Hanger 9 Showtime, Sportsman Aviation Excelleron 90, Giant Scale Planes Quest II, or the Planes Plus Dream 110.
What ever you get get it trimmed to fly good and practice practice practice.

Hi.
Well, yes, Ron is my instructor, and I often fly with Joe. Great bunch of guys.
I was going to surprise Ron and build up a pattern plane, I want something larger than a 40, I like my Tiger 60 (size wize) so that seems to be my target size plane for now.
Ron and I got into a winter project, I wanted to build a scratch Tiger II with mods, but have gotten bogged down with the project so will put it aside for now. What I really want is to build a good ARF for beginner level pattern.
My background: I solo'ed last August and moved right into the Tiger 60 and am learning the basics of aerobatics with that. I also fly a Midwest Aerobat. I can complete (but not in sequence) most of the basic maneuvers for the sportsman level. I need to build something I can fly with and burn some fuel.
I want something that won't intimidate me, will fly straight, and will be a good entry level pattern plane in the approximately 70" span. I have a brand new Evolution 100 engine that I need a home for, I intend to put it in the Tiger 60 to get some time on it, then eventually put it in a sportsman pattern plane. The Tiger 60 flys straight enough for me to practice, but I really want to move into something more.
Thanks for the input, by the way.

If you are capable of building, and can find the kit, the CA Models Widebody 60 is absolutely awesome. Mine was ([&o]) 7-1/2 lbs on a YS110 flew straight and true, very little coupling with rudder input. It was really a dream to fly....It really handled much like a 2M plane...
If you need an ARF, those that have been suggested already that I've seen fly are the Excelleron ARF and the Quest 3D ARF. Both seemed to fly well.
