Default CMPRO Swallow 90 EX power plant

Hi,

I had a mid-air collision with my swallow on the weekend and have already ordered a replacement, the plane was flying great with a OS91 FX spinning an APC 14 x 8. Good power and vertical performance not unlimited vertical but stil good power for pattern which I enjoy flying.

My question is I have just acquired a Saito 100 cheap and would like to know which engine I should put in the swallow (the OS 91 or the Saito 100). I am going to purchase either an Extra 330 65" or similar Edge 540 so which ever engine I do not use I will put in this aeroplane.

Cheers,
Sam.

Hi Sam,

Where did your Groovy 90 3A go??? By the way I am also converted to Swallow from Groovy 90 3A! Didn't give me satisfactory performance with OS 120 FS. Lets see what this CMPro Swallow does with 90 FX 13 x 8 recommended prop.

Regards,

Sunny.

Hi all, my swallow fly's rearly well once you get the C of G back to approx 170mm behind the LE, I put my elevator servo's in the tail, one either side, used Hitec 5245MG's to keep the weight resonable, the UC is not good broke mine on the first landing the front extended piece broke away from the main leg, now have a carbon replacement from Carbon Copy in the Uk they make a direct replacement UC, I reinforced the seating by putting an extra 1/4" ply plate under the orriginal with a fibre glass strip between the two and up the sides of the fus internally, no problems for the last twenty or so flights, I have had a overheating problem with the engine but that is the engine not the planes fault.
