That's my plane in the NSCRA add! First time published.
CA Models Eclipse on Final, 3rd flight in competition ever in Riverside CA. Funny thing is I crashed from this position......not really a crash as much as I pancaked it in. If you look at the pic closely right above the leading edge of the wing there is a faint line. This is the neon green string I was using to help keep my gear in place. I had broke out the landing gear plate during practice and didn't have the time to or tools to perm fix it. I set it up that every landing had to be soft or risk damage. That flight had been the best of the competition and the landing was setup perfect.......guess I got lazy and didn't flare. Gear plate broke again and I got zero on the landing.

Soooo, how were your landings before pattern took your skills to the next level?
Nice looking eclipse! It's good to see NSRCA taking the initiative to further the cause.

My landings are normally fine. That was the 3rd that day and like I said, they all had to be smooth or I knew the gear would pop out again. I think I got fixated on that fact and I just pancaked it hard, even if the gear plate wasn't temp fixed it would have broke most planes gear.
I was able to fix it again and fly the rest of the competition though. Pattern has shown me my lines were never really straight.
