Hello all,
someone knows where to find good aluminum control horns similar to those mounted on Matt's planes at WC?
They were triangular, lightweight and with two bolts that permit their installation on surfaces (rudder, elev, etc)

Thanks Guys,
I have followed the link above and like the horns. Which are lighter, the Aluminum or CF horns? I'd like to buy some of these. Is there a US distributor?
Thanks,
Jim W.

I bet you'll find there's not much in it. If there is you are probably talking fractions of a gram, let alone fractions of an ounce. And if you can notice that much difference once in the air you're a liar!!
I reckon it's a choice of personal aesthetic appeal. Personally I think they anodised aluminium horns are prettier, so they are what I have gone for on my new model.

Its the scale, not the air where it matters. Compared to 3" plus 6/32 bolts used for horns, there is enough of a weight savings to matter (CF or AL).

Jim,
These things weigh almost nothing. 2 grams each for the Aluminum horns. Even if the CF horns are 50% lighter, you are talking about saving less than 1/4 ounce for the entire set (1 gram * 6 horns = 6 grams).
My guess is that the CF horns are of similar weight as the aluminum.

Jim,
you're absolutely right. However I was comparing the CF to the Al horns here, not comparing them to the heavy, bolt type horns sometimes used. There is definitely a saving to be had over these types, with either the CF or Al types. My point is there's not much to chose between the CF and Al horns.
