My house in Kingwood is OK, but we are still without power. All of my planes were high and dry.

Mike East is here in Waco and been here since Thursday. Buddy, Larry, Perry, Ray, all got out and are fine.
Mike had only wind damage at his house in Nederland and they have been told not to go back home
for a couple of weeks. They will not let anyone back in the town for now. Still not sure about the rest
of the guy's stuff. We will just waite and see.

I'm north of Houston, about 15 miles south of Conroe and we didn't get enough rain to water the grass. Most here slept through it. We had about 1-2 hours worth of cleanup (leaves, limbs, etc) but that's it. Never lost power or utilities.

Good to hear all the beaumont guys are ok. This is the first I've heard and am relieved everyone got out ok. Looks like it got nasty there [&o]

That's good news, Pennie and I have been worried about everyone. One of her
best friends lives in Sulphur and she hasn't been able to contact her yet. The pictures
on the news look pretty bad in east Texas and western Louisiana.

Mike East checking in. We are fine just waiting on power to be restored to our city. There was some bigtime grid damage and they are waiting on parts to make the repairs. Mid COunty and Beuamont were hit really hard by this storm from a business standpoint. Lots and lots of businesses either suffered severe damage or were totally destroyed. especially metal buildings and mall type structures.

All of the Mid County boys are ok as far as I know, I have talked to most all of them except Ray but Im pretty sure he got out ok.

If you want to check out the damage follow this link, you can see all of groves, port arthur and some of port neches in great detail from an aerial view.

PS, Im having a nice stay in Waco but I would like to get a little closer to home in case I need to commute until the power is restored to my house. They are saying they may want salary folks back sometime next week. If any of you guys slightly north or east of Houston have a lead on a good safe hotel please gimme a call on my cell.. 409 728-8798.... I tried all day today and couldnt find a room ANYWHERE within 50 miles of the center of Houston except right in downtown and $150+++ per night. I have my wife, 2 daughters and a pomeranian so they have to take pets.

Mike,

It's great to hear you are OK. Has anyone heard from Nat Penton? All of the phone lines are down in southwestern La.

We're good here in Tomball. The Deqincy La bunch is as follows:

Nat Penton rode out the storm in Dequincy La. He and his family are OK. He has tree fallen against his house and several more on his property. He has since bugged out to Austin until conditions improve...

Eddie Bachelor rode out the storm in Bossier City. He and his family are OK. He went back to Dequincy to secure his drugstore after the storm. He had some damage to the store, and some minor damage to his house, otherwise he is OK. He has now left again to Bossier City until conditions improve...

My Dad, Ron Lewis (flew his first contest at Nedrland this year) rode out the storm in Dequincy. He and his family are OK. He has 5 trees down on 2 acres, but suffered no damage to his home. They left after the storm to go to Atlanta for a pre-planned trip. They are going to go back and check everything, and then go elsewhere until conditions improve.

Anyone heard anything from Bryan Hebert? I e-mail'd him a while ago and haven't got a response. Would like to know how he and his family are doing...

Spoke with Nat Penton today. He's back home but has no phone. He still has a pine tree on his 2nd story roof of his home(that's a tall pine tree). But it didn't appear to damage his home much.

I reopened my store yesterday Cleaning up water damage and restocking shelves. I'm even able to fill Rx's on DSL ( yeah centruytel)

Spoke with Richard's dad (Ron Lewis) yesterday. They're back home and doing fine (have power)

Eddie
