I went to the CA Models website after reading this thread last night. Haven't been there in a few months. The Widebody 40 and 60 kits are missing. Also, the Epsilon kits are for 40, 90, and 120 sizes. I have the 60 and that is missing from the website now.

I just asked a similar question in the aerodynamics forum that you might want to watch

I regret to inform that this nice looking plane suffers several manufacturing problems: I saw two different planes breaking wings in two in the same flying day... in one plane the wing could be replaced (2 weeks after) and was again broken in two.
The curious thing is that the collapse happened while the plane was flying straigth and level... and first ever flight...

The only thing I could think that could cause that would be the use of a less dense foam in the wing. Guille you have any idea why the wings are breaking?

Indeed; they are built in sheeted foam. Wings are breaking due to poor wood quality combined with low density foam. According to the analysis we made, the cracks begun in the leading edge (yes, leading edge) near the servos bays and once the flutter begun the crack traveled directly to the wing root where the aileron begins. I shall remark that the trailing edge where the aileron is hinged (and this is a design failure) does not continues from one wing to another.
In my opinion, the plane can be good (I can't afirm this since the three flight I saw finished so soon...) but better material shall be used for construction and wing structural design must be revised.

guille,
Normberto (el pulqui) was a huge help to me with my Epsilon and started this thread. I wonder if he could help us out with our questions. Its a great looking plane and I hope we can figure out what the source of the problem seems to be.
Guille your english is really good

Sounded like the same wing scenario as the early Angel's Shadow production, mine lasted only 50 or so flights, the top and bottom wing halves seperated in mid flight

Yes, the Angels Shadow and Icepoint wing failures were bad.
Guille- have you contacted CA Models about this? I know that the Widebody was supposed to have had wing failures in the beginning. I think that after listening to the few people post about it they were due to building errors, mostly around how the fiberglassing was done on the patch area.
Poor quality wood and foam sure doesn't sound like what I've seen from CA Models. Wonder what the h&ll is going on with this kit.
By the way, your English is very good, Guille. Thanks for the news and updates. Keep us posted, okay?
