At the risk of offending all purists, in BOTH *IMAC and "Pattern"..... I recently completed my Giles. 76" span, about 1100 sq., 72" length. With "conventional" Pattern power plants (the O* and Y* and the H*), the build comes in under 5kg. Dead stock. Has a tunnel, if needed.
Has a novel adjustable wing location in the fuse.... heavy motor, wing moves forward..... lighter motor, wing moves aft. VERY clever. Also "works". No ballasting needed.
Wings incidence fixed by tabs in slots, not adjustable. Stabs are plug in, not adjustable. One piece hatch, two screws. Wing mounts on a CF tube (supplied) and the landing gear are CF tubes in CF tubes. Light and rigid.
It ain't a "Genesis" or "Brio" or whatever.... but it is a pretty well built ARF, under $375, TOTALLY pattern capable, (very minor mix needed, and it tracks quite well). Another advantage is it is IMAA legal and IMAC capable, at 29% of scale size.
Huge 3D control surfaces, but alignment is perfect out of the box, and I didn't even have to change the thrust line/angle.
Of course, mine is sporting a brand-new Brison 2.4 gasser....won't pass 96db, but has pretty incredible performance capability. Oh yeah, with my Brison, it's 11 lb 3 oz...with 2 sets of heavy NiMh batteries. So not "legal", but certainly under many airplanes at local events. Certainly as capable.
Any of ya'll lookin' for a good "pseudo-Pattern" airplane (purists need not go there) just check out the thread on the 3D Forum, and at Ultra R/C.
