I know what an Advantage is, I have a kit. I have a friend that has one too. Great flying plane. If you want to look at one, go to the Radio South website, and click on customer's planes. scroll down to Kevin Proodian's plane and you will see it.

Well, that is the bad news. I do not think anyone is producing it right now. Mr. Proodian is the designer, and he was producing the kits for awhile. I got my kit from someone who bought it from Mr. Proodian. You may be able to find one, but it probably will not be easy. I will be building mine this spring. My plane has cheek cowls, so it will look a little different that the one in the picture. I have flown an Advantage, and there is a reason it is called Advantage

If it is a kit, I would buy it if the price is good. I know some people who are looking for a kit. If you did not build it you could sell it pretty easily. If it has already been built, see if you can fly it. If it was put together right, It should fly very good.

Mike,
Everette is going to try the Focus before he makes a decision. If E sells the plane it will be $$$, but it will be worth every penny.
Cool,
I think the one in CA might be on the web, I forget the guy's name, but I think it is Jim Woodward. He had a write up about it on a website somewhere. If you have not done so already do a google search for "Kevin Proodian" and you will eventually come across it.

Well, it just so happens, I have a Patriot I'm flying now with a fixed gear. The Patriot flys really good, but the Advantage flys alot better. I find the Patriot is a little hard to tell when it is flying straight and level. I think this has to do with the Patriot not having any dihedral. Another flyer in the area who is a Masters pilot expressed the same thoughts when he owned a Patriot (I thought it was just me). I will be competing this coming season with the Patriot, and switching to the Advantage next year. The Advantage is easy to see, and it will hold a line better, but this is just my opinion. On a scale of 1-10 the Patriot I have is a 7, and the Advantage I flew is a 9. Either would be a good choice though, I love the way the Patriots look, they are the prettiest pattern planes out there.

Two of the guys I fly with have focuses (foci), one has his done, and the other is still building it. Both were the ARC version. The guy who is flying has his set up with a OS 1.60, and the plane is a rocket ship. This motor may have a little too much power for pattern flying, but it looks like alot of fun. The other guy is setting his up with a Webra 1.45. I'm partial to two strokes, so I have a little bias. I have not flown a focus, but they look good, and my friend likes his. Both guys have had some quality problems with the kit, but for the price they are at now they are a good deal. If I did not have the Advantage waiting in the wings, I would consider one.
You may want to check out the Phase I by Ken Blackwell. Zimpro marketing will have them out in the spring, and I hear that they are going to be around $650 for an ARC kit. You will either love or hate the way the Phase I looks, but I hear it is a very good flier. I would probably pick this one over the Focus.

Hey now, watch those rocket ship comments! That 17x13 I have on it is for *pylon*...... Hold all further judgement 'till I get a 17x11 on it (and learn how to use the throttle) Ha!
Seriously, all 3 fly very well... Everette is a very good builder and his Advantage is a masterpiece. I'll be afraid to fly his Focus when he finishes it, because it'll probably make mine feel like an Avistar. But all 3 are very good planes.

Cool,
You can get a good deal if you are patient. It seems like the best time to get a plane that is put together is in the early spring. Most people build new planes in the winter, and then unload their old planes in the spring. I bought the Patriot I have for $650.00 for the airframe only, and I thought I got a decent deal. I got it at a contest in the spring. Good Luck.

I'd say it's sweet, bar none. It's only one of 2 ever made. I personally checked that plane out before he got it and finished it. It's straight and very nice.
I have also seen it fly under wicked wind conditions, and it tracks like an arrow. This plane/engine is brand spanking new. He just wanted something with a larger fuse to go after me next season =)
He got a Focus with an OS 1.40. It's the sweetest focus I've seen to date. Bryan is a real master at details. You should see the inside of that Patriot.
Nah, somebody convinced him he needed a bigger plane to beat me (and AC and Levi and Kris etc), as it hides dropping wing tips better =) And he may be on to something. Bryan is going to be tough as nails next season.
If patriots were my bag, I'd grab it in a heartbeat.

Did Executive Airframes make the Nomex Patriot? Why were there only two made, and if one wanted a Nomex Patriot, could one be made if one asked verrrrrry nicely? That Patriot looks good Coolhand, I would definately look into it!
