Having seen both fly, I prefer the Beam, especially if it is newly redesigned as posted elsewhere in this forum. The Otop is also nice but it is just smaller. If you will used the older YS120s or YS140s then the Otop would be perfect. But if you have the YS160 then go for the Beam. Are the Otops still available? When we were in Thailand, I was told that there were only 5 left and they would not produce any more of them.

The OTOP is very much in production and available. We've got 1 left in stock here in the U.S. at [link=http://www.bvmprops.com]BVM Props [/link] and will have more in the coming weeks.

Hi
Goods news. My friend Christophe has one with engine MVVS 160 and he is very happy with.
He told me OTOP in a very good pattern. See pictures of his plane in contest (France)

Hi David
Was nice to see you at Joe Nall. Shall we revive our pattern rivalry?
Wish we'd have more time to visit Friday but I understand you, Jason and your Dad were busy with it being a "working vacation" and all that. Still thinking about the Otop or the Astral.

BTW Nice flying

Otop is older than beam and Otop will be replace soon by his new brother.
I've seen Otop fly last week, it fly well but a little too fast in my opinion. For Beam i've never see it in france at the moment so i can't judge.
So two solutions for you:
1-buy Beam
2-wait for Otop's big brother

Hey Tim,
Great seeing you at the Nall. It was a bit busy there and hopefully we'll meet up again at a future event, who knows, maybe a pattern contest??
The OTOP is a great plane, very prefabricated, I think almost the most pre-fabbed for that price. I'll be posting photos of the inside setup on [link=http://www.bvmprops.com]www.bvmprops.com[/link] this week.

Hey Snap Roll,
Yes, BVM Props is distributing the line of Xtreme Composites here in the USA. With you being in Singapore, it would be cheapest to buy direct from the factory if you can, otherwise we can ship worldwide without a problem.
