Keep an eye out on Piedmont's web site over the next few days. Rumor has it the Focus 2 and maybe even a Focus 3 will be coming very soon.

They are pulling a PL....close shop....get huge publicity from it...then re-open and reap the mad sales that publicity brings

Repeat every few years

I don't think so. They didn't need the publicity.
They were actually falling apart IMO... I don't blame him for shutting down.
I'm sure someone else is buying him out and reopening..
That would be cool. They should make a deal with Mike and kit the black magic!

I wasn't really being serious

I just find the coincidence amusing....PL did this 3 or 4 times.

I knew that Chad. I've learned you by now man!!
Plus, I saw your smiley faces!!
Just kind of giving my perception on what might have happened..
Or be happening hopefully..

How's the twister's coming along? Have you flown them yet?
Where are you guys buying your kits in canada? Do you have an importer?
We don't have anyone again who imports and has any kits in stock in the us.
A country as big as this. It's crazy..

Ones flying (nearly 100 flights now)...the other needs painting still (too busy flying!)

We got them direct from ZN, imported as individuals.....its a bit of a PITA but the only way to do it as no one is selling them here. I think we brought in nearly 20 of them total. A couple of them ended up down in the US.

Hi Guys,

A friend of mine has bought the BM plans. We are still awaiting them. He is however as CAD\CAM expert, and he told me instead of building the wooden fuselag,
he is interested in cutting fuse moulds on his CNC machine, and build a composite fuse. As soon as there is a mould, it is not too difficult to built more fuselages.

He is also a composite expert with lots of experience with carbon and kevlar. So, an accurate, light ?? composite fuselage might be avialable in the future and he might be willing to make a few and ship them if Mike allows.

Lets see what happens.

Regards

I went to the Piedmont site yesterday and got the URL page where you can pick a web page name. Today it opens to this statement:

Piedmont Models will be reopening in the near future.

The web site is undergoing maintenance. Please come back soon!

Good news!

From what i heard at the shootout this weekend it will be August-September and they will be back. I do think a replacement Focus will be on my shopping list. The Black Magic is also on my want list. Hoping that it's possible for a little more prefabrication. Such as fuse formers precut.
