New design from the makers of ABBRA - the Leviosa!
I have just maidened this amazing piece of equipment - the Leviosa from Jaroslav Mach. After the first 4 flights I can say that it flies true and tracks very well, KE is straight with only 2% mixing with left rudder, zero with right rudder. The "feel" and presentation is excellent. Can't wait to fly some more tomorrow. You can read more and see more pictures [link=http://www.rcmania.cz/modules.php?name=News&file=categories&op=newindex&catid=2]on this page.[/link]

RE: New design from the makers of ABBRA - the Leviosa!
Hello There,
I’m currently looking for a new plane, and I’ve come across this model and didn’t really
know much about the plane and I so I’m leaning towards the Cocaine but know that
you’ve flown it, could you tell me more about the plane ?
How is it compared to the Abbra ?
What is left for the buyer/builder to build and if possible could you compare it with
the Abbra in sense of completion.
Any more information is greatly appreciated about this model, as I’m shopping for a new plane.
In advance thanks a lot for the information
Regards,
Danny Koolman

RE: New design from the makers of ABBRA - the Leviosa!
Hello ExFokkerFlyer,
Well originally I was planning on buying the Abbra, but last Friday I’ve contacted Ed Skorepa
and was told that the plane is currently almost unobtainable and that the waiting time is 8-10 months.
So I’m still looking around for something in the ARF range.

Danny,
Ed told me the other week that mine is second or so on the list... I placed the order in November, and might get it in July or Aug? So 10 months is about right. The have had a lot of issues at the factory I know... Ed has been good with providing information on the progress... but it has been frustrating to be sure.
Like the new one though...

David, will You be flying the Leviosa in the European championships? I'll have to come and take a closer look at it if You do. My Abbra is pretty close to complete but all of those little things take time, still flying my old plane.

As far as I know, Lorenz is serving mainly Germany... no problem to go directly to Mr. Mach's [link=http://www.jm-composite.com/index_en.htm]website[/link]. They speak English...
The truth is, I was waiting also a long time... I guess it is the price to pay for the excellent craftsmanship.

I made 2 more flights yesterday, in a very calm air... well without doubt the best plane I ever had, although there is still some fine tuning left for this one, mainly throws...
I have got basically a finished model with everything installed. The level of completion of the kit is the same as for the Abbra, so maybe some Abbra owner will tell you what he had to do.

EXFokkerflyer would use electric (AXI), but he's selling the model to me - yes, it's true, he's tired of waiting and just wants to get rid of the darn thing!

RE: New design from the makers of ABBRA - the Leviosa!
I wish many of these lastest generation of European F3A tall bodies where available with a foam balsa wing/stab option.
I'm just not convinced with the comp' wing fad. Of course they're far cheaper to poduce thus their popularity with the producers!
Unfortunately, I and many others feel the tradition wing is far superior over the cheap composite alternative.
I'd be willing to pay extra for the option... if only there was an option.
What is one to do?

Any input on how this airplane flies compared to the Prestige? A friend of mine and I are looking for matching rides for next year.
Thanks and take care.

RE: New design from the makers of ABBRA - the Leviosa!
LOL! Well, you have a point........
Actually I was looking at some of those pics and thinking how much it resembles the Black Magic. In some it looks a lot different, more like the ZN Supreme, but the way that one is painted, some of those pics look awfully similar. Especially the tail area, the wing and that front view of it landing. I guess that's a good thing! Or maybe I've just spent to long looking at the lines of pattern planes and they all look the same....
