Yeah, I won Intermediate
,
OK, a total of 7 people showed up. Very disappointing, with a lot of excuses about the somewhat rough runway. No one had a problem except Ed Hartley, who landed short and knocked the gear out of his Icepoint, an easy repair. We flew 3 rounds on Saturday off of one line, a big thunderstorm came in, and we called it a contest. Thanks to Bill Hardin for judging, even though he didn't fly.
Here are the Finishers:
Sportsman:
None
Intermediate:
1. Jon Lowe
2. Phil Spelt
Advanced:
1. Ray Arden (sp?)
Masters:
1. Jim Ivey
2. Bruce Underwood
3. Ed Hartley
FAI:
Lamar Blair
Jon Lowe

Wow, that is disapointing. Most the D3 contest have been well attended with the acception of Apopka. Hope everyone is going to make the Jacksonville contest, looks like our club is going to be generous with some good prises for the raffle and such. Hope to see everyone there!

YES. Jacksonville is always on my "must attend" list. if you haven't been there before, it's more than worth the drive. It's argueably one of the most fun contests in D3. I look forward to it every year!
I hope they do move Apopka back to the original date, heck I'll go for sure!

It's been moved to Dec 9 & 10, 2006, where it will remain as an annual event. Steve

Apopka Florida, Scott. Used to be the Tangerine contest, one of the oldest and most prestigeous contests in the US. And it needs to return to that level. It's PERFECT for getting the rust out in the middle of winter!
