Ok, at the risk of sounding completly retarded I've got a question. I'm interested in starting pattern flying and am looking into getting a pattern plane. (not a 100% sure what yet) But I've noticed the exhaust set up is completly different on most pattern planes (headers and can) then normal planes. Where do I shop for these and what's the difference? Are these only for certain engines or can you mount them to anything? Let the bashing (and hopefully answers) begin...

No bashing...well I could bash your color selection based on your geographical location but I will resist...

You can go to Central Hobbies website and see some of the exhaust systems you mentioned.

I flew an Ultra RC Quest 2 in sportsman this year with a YS 1.10 with the supplied muffler.
Next year I hope to fly a plane with a YS 1.60 DZ that will require an exhaust system.
It will depend what engine, plane you will be flying.
Good luck!
