Hi
You do need to leave the vent line open. I have 2 140rx and have them set up the same
way. I have the vent line connected to a tettra 90 degree elbow coming through the fuse
side next to the fuel dot.
I have never found any excess of fuel sprayed down the side of the fuse after a flight
or any other problems from this setup.
Cheers
Elmer

No dont clamp it, unless you have a Bladder tank. Normal tank needs a vent or line from the pipe.
I run a bladder tank with the vent line going to the pipe. I was told the positive pressure helps?
In my back up plane I will likely copy Wayno's coke bottle fuel tank(less weight) with 1 line going to the engine and the other going to the pipe. I dont see what the positive pressure in the tank could hurt. Who knows it may save a round should the pump fail. Although I have never heard of pump failure.
Other than the rear bearing needing replaced to the EFI bearing, the 140 RX runs like a clock for me. I know of 2 FAI pilots that use them in D6. Very reliable you should enjoy it.
Also it seems most run the 3M mintor head(aeroslave dot com), it has 2 plugs in the head to keep it going on a long downline. I have never tried it with the standard head, so I'm not sure its necessary.
