Default Weight comparison: YS140 vs YS 120NC

Does the YS140 out weigh the YS120NC? If so by how much?

Default About the same

The original YS 140FZ was lighter than the 120NC. The reason it was a 120 case and everything that they bored out....So same package and less metal....I don't know the exact specs on it...or have them in front of me..right now. If you need exact numbers I will try to find them.

The YS 120NC was a bit lighter than the 120AC say about 2ouces....As for the 140FZ it was about 1/2oz or so lighter than the 120. Now the the 140L had some metal in it as it mainly was the first motor with the mounting lug on the rear of the Carb for the YS motor mount. All motors sine then are now fitted with this lug...So the 140L and 120NC were about the same weight. less than a 1oz difference. But the 120FZ came out with the mounting lug on the rear and weighs the same....or within 1/2 oz.

Now the YS 140DZ is a just a little heavier but only by about 1.5ozs...They beefed up the case and did some other things to the motor....

The new version of the 140 is the 140Sport is the same weight as the L and the 120FZ....

For all practical purposes all the 120's and the 140s have the same weight.....Except for the 120AC it had a bunch more metal on it.....to the amount of about 2 ozs

Hope this helps.
