Default weak snaps a sign of forward CG?

hey all, I've got back to flying my trusty old venus, but after flying my 2m ship I'm having trouble making it snap the way I want it to. If I get the controls in enough to make it snap, and then back elevator off it still snaps really deeply and will probably over rotate at least 270 degrees., and if I back the throws off is seems to snap really weakly, kind of winding up to the snap but still a half hearted effort.

Is it my CG that's making these snaps unmanageable?

I'm thinking I need to move it aft, a long way. Am I right?

Try it with very little elevator. I noticed the same thing and found that by drastically reducing the elevator I get really nice, graceful snaps that stay on heading and bleed off much less speed on uplines, all with much less stress on the wing.
