Hey all,
THANKS, count me in, leaving thursday afternoon, driving straight to muncie and camping on site I guess. Yahoo maps say 8 1/2 hours from my home. I'm from PA but I lived on my dad's farm in WV back in the day, so I guess would be D4 ???? right : )
I'm flying intermediate if I need to pre-register, looking forward to it, it will be my first trip to up to muncie....
thanks again all, and Archie see you on the road brother...
see you all friday, Dean

As the NSRCA Vice President for District 5, I make the following pledge:
In the spirit of good competition and support for pattern in general, in the unlikely event that D4 beats D5, I will personally buy a F3A Team T shirt for the highest placing member of D4 in each class. I will have Rusty give out the 5 shirts at the Shootout and I will pay him. Everyone has fun, and the Team may score a sale. Is the D4 VP willing to match the offer?? Does he have the confidence in his District??

Steve,
I've got your number thanks, I am not sure of my route yet, I may need a place to crash for sure, thanks.....
I think it would be neat to arrive late, camp on site and get up early and fly.
thanks all, looking forward to the weekend, my wife took the news fairly well.
thanks all, Dean

I love the wind charts on this site.
Looks like a great day on Saturday but tommorow looks brezzy. Sure beats last years diaster.
I took the today off to practice. We are having gusts up to 45mph. Good thing I have a brand new plane to get built for the Nats or I'd be headed into work now.

Two pages of trash pattern talk. Gotta love it. i'll be there Friday afternoon. Bringing one plane two gallons of fuel. A tent to sleep in. And perhaps more importantly. Aleta she'll keep you district five guys in line. If that was possible.
Dennis
PS Chris that T-shirt will be X-large for advanced.

Dennis,
Glad your coming. You've got at least three D5 ers to take you one. Doc, Frankie and myself.. It'll be fun.
And with Arch coming up from deep in the heart of Texas, it'll be grand!!!!

Great contest. Thanks to the 32 contestents that made it happen. Thanks to Tom Weedon and Frankie DelGuidice for their hard work in making the event happen.
The weather was pretty good except for some wierd winds that were changing constantly. The temps were mild and perfect.
The winner and still Champion is D5!!!
Individuals who took 1st in there classes were,
Mike Cilles a very nice young 15 year old from Ohio in Sportsman
Dean Funk with his Black Magic from the Atlanta area in Intermediate. Sorry that we didn't have a field for him but he would have beat the competition anyway.
Doc Eugene "Eno" Villa took out a huge field in Advanced and picked up the most points for the D5 guys. He was awarded the Aerobatic Ryder Cup trophy to hold for the year. This was Doc's 1st win ever and he did it at a huge event flying his beautiful new Zeque.
Arch Stafford drove 14 hrs all the way from Del Rio Tx. to beat another large field of flyers in Masters. He had his new prototype Mike Hester built Black Magic V3. We expected alot and he delivered. Bill Gregg took a hard fought for 2nd and won the points for D5 as the highest placing from District 5.
Troy Newman added some real talent to the mix and won FAI with his really nice Astral XX 170YS, JR Radio, Central Hobbies, etc etc etc sponsored plane. ( More stickers on his plane than Jeff Gordon has on his Chevy)! Bill Ahrens took the top points in FAI for D5 with his 2nd place finish.
Only 1 major mishap when Rusty Dose and Matt DelGuidice midaired on Sunday both planes were able to land safely but there was sugnificant damage to Rustys Zeque and Matts Temptation. Both will be in the shop for repairs for a while.
All in all a great event topped off with the ceremony when Bob Kane had to get down on his knees and present the Godfather of pattern Bobby Satalino with the coveted Ryder trophy.
Thanks to all and see you next year. Mike Mueller

Great contest..had a blast..weather was wonderful, and was great to see everyone again. I miss you guys...that was a lot of fun. If any of you havnet flown with the Chicago gang...well, it can not even be described...1441 miles from my driveway to the AMA site, and 19 hours, but worth EVERY second of the drive,
