Jim,
I assume that you are talking about the Signal Seekers contest. I am going. It is not particularly difficult to get to. Construction of the road leading to the field presents a little challenge but overall it is not that bad. It is a great contest that I am sure you will enjoy. Excellent local support.

The field is nice, lots of room to fly and land. You do not want to run long off of the runway though, as the little ditch at the end is a landing gear killer. The field is long enough where that is not much of a problem though.

When are you heading up?

Anthony

Hey everyone,

I thought I would post about the contest this weekend at the Signal Seekers field. First off, it was a light attended contest as there were possiblities of it being cancelled due to a poor road entrance. We had only 10 guys show up, 1 in Sportsman, 1 in Intermediate, 6 in Advance, 1 in Masters, and 1 in FAI.

The contest was very fun and relaxing with not much going on except a lot of judging for those who were not in Advanced class.

The results are as follows

Sportsman- Jim 4000.00

Intermediate- Marty King

Advanced-Mike Darr
Dennis Boadry
Anthony Abdullah
Charlie Williams
Mike Murphy
Tom Weedon

Masters- Verne Koester

FAI- Andrew Jesky

I would like to thank Bob Kane, the Contest Director, everything went off without a hitch. My Dad (Tim Jesky) for running the flight lines and selecting judges, and a HUGE THANKS to the Signal Seekers for allowing us to use there field for the contest.

I want to thank Bob Kane and Tim Jesky for all their hard work. Putting on a contest is always a gamble and even though the turn out was low I think the relaxed pace and only flying one line really helped me and some others to get back to flying contests this season. I had only flown the sequence twice before this weekend due to health issues. I expected to have at least one or two in my class but it was enough to try and fly against myself. The weather Saturday was excellent with a light crosswind blowing out. Not one of us hit the fields berm or landed off site.

Thanks again,

Marty

I would like to thank Tim, Bob and the Signal Seekers club as well. The light attendance did make for a very relaxed atmosphere. I had a great time and it was great to see my extended pattern family again.

A special thanks goes out to Tim and Linda Jesky for their legendary hospitality and the tasty vittles. I am the current record holder for most strawberry shortcake eaten after a full meal, and intend to vigorously defend my title.

Thank again everyone.
Anthony
