My father-in-law is looking for a pattern style plane for a OS61 2c he has laying around. It will replace the Ultra Sport that took a dirt nap a few weeks ago (box of sticks to great plane and back). It doesn't have to be a competetive level a/c just something that flies stable and tracks well. ARF or ARC, $200 - $350 (less is better). This is not my thing so I thought I'd throw it out to you guys who know what you're talking about.

How nuts do you want to go?

I have a Venus 40 with an os 61sf in it and it's a ball!

excelleron 50 will be awesome with that engine, you will get great vertical climbs performance, this model a bit bigger and longer fuse than the venus or similar 40 size pattern planes, its an advantage.
The plane is strong, beautiful, quality and fly well like bigger pattern planes.

The Javelin from Cermark.com would also be a good choice. I have had two with a YS 63 and been very happy. It is now on sale for $119
