I am looking for an engine for the GSP Swallow I picked up at the Toledo Show. I also bought an Iron Bay fuel management system. It is very similar to the Cline regulator, but beautifully made of aluminum. I guess a non-pumped engine would work in this plane when tied to the fuel system. Would a Super Tigre or OS 91 2 stroke be enough? What kind of props can be used with these two engines? Should I need to use a tuned pipe? Is it a Webra 120 too big?

I'm currently using a swallow as my competition airplane, and this is the setup as I'm using it.
Supertigre G90 on long pipe, with an OS 7D (1.08) carb, swinging an apc 14x10 prop.
My plane has some serious modifications to it to lighten it and also to make it easier to work on but with that system It has gobs and gobs of power. I love it.
Next mod will probably be a perry pump so I can shift the tank back to the cg, as it is, it's running only on muffler presure...

I'm using an irvine .72 (equipped with hatori copy tuned pipe), that engine is in the lower end of the scale you would want to use. My plane turned out light (lighter than the instructions said, approx. 3.4kg if memory serves right). The engine has enough power, but I'd buy a os 91 fx if I were you. (Note that the OS fits to my personal preferances, I'm not saying that there is a lack of other decent, or in fact very good, engines available.) A webra 120 sounds awfully heavy in my ears. For the .90 sized engines, APC 14x10 is a very good choice, as earlier mentioned.

How are you guys mounting the 2 stroke engines? I gess side mounted would make sense but I would hate to cut the cowl. Instructions call for a 4 stroke mounted with the head pointing straight down.
