Hello all. I am having trouble picking the right prop for my pattern plane. The engine is a YS 110 that pulls like a horse. The model is very slippery and on downlines it speeds up a little too much for my liking. I've cut back from a 14x12 to a 15x10 and like the overall speed, except for downlines still. Is there any other prop I could try for slower downlines? A I have a 16x8 but having flown a similar model with that prop in the past I think overall it will be too slow.
Any thoughts? Thanks and happy holidays.

Hi
I use 16x8 on an OS 120AX (stock muffler) powered Epsilon 90, for flying in winter. I find the speed more than sufficient. I am quite sure that the YS 110 will perform similary.
Anyway if you have one, try it. If you like it, use it. If not ...

Hi again
Since I use this model for flying in winter (real cold winter), I prefer to fly in low-wind conditions only. But compared to my other models used for competition I do not feel that I lack any speed. What I notice is that the Epsilon gains quite a lot of speed going down, even with 16x8. This may be because I am now used to electrics and their very good braking.
Generally it's very important to have a really low idle to get proper downline braking.

I have been flying the new Focus Sport that last couple of days. The model performs well with the 110S ona 15-10 and Cool power 30% heli. Temps have been in the 60's and nearly no wind.
The model is 8.5lbs and has tremendous power to weight. It does really well with this combo.
