Finally was able to test fly this new bird which is my first kevlar/carbon fuse prototype. It came out weighing 10 pounds 6oz. and is powered by a YS 140L. Plane rolls really axial, nose stays where you point it, up and down lines are good. Really looking forward to the new season!!

I love the checkerboard scheme. Looks great. I'm sure it flies great as well.
Good Luck this season. What class are you flying in?

Default advanced

Steve, Thanks for your comments. This will be my second year in advanced. Now that the Defiant is done its time to practice, practice, practice. It flys much better than what I was flying last year and it will be interesting to see how things go this upcoming season.

Thanks Tom and Mark for your kind words. The Defiant is a little different from most patterships. The wing is set on the thrust line and the nose sports a 3.5" spinner. The canopy area is not blended into the fuselage as much and resembles more of a Formula One racer. To be honest, the plane was based off a Formula One racer called the "SNO SHOE" which is the highest evolution on the old F1 Shoestring. I really liked the widebodies of the PL Smaradg and Excellence so stretched the SNOSHOE fuslage into the widebody pattern configuration. With the wing set on the thrustline with no dihedral the Defiant rolls and snaps very axial holding its lines very well. There is still quite a bit of fuselage side area above the wing which helps visibility over other mid wing planes I've flown. Sure love the constant speed of the widebody!

I acquired your plane Todd and really looking forward to getting it in the air. Has an OS160fx in it now but thinking of going with a OS33gt on pipe. Any thoughts on that by chance?
