Default P-09 woes

I need help doing manuever #9 particularly the downline 1 1/4 snap of which i have difficulty exiting the snap nose down.
my focus always tends to pitch up and slightly to the right after a right sided snap.

I feel I have adequately balanced and trimmed my aircraft as i can perform spins (#14) and the 45 deg inv neg snap(#17) adequately. downlines are straight vertical.

I have tried snapping the other way around, reducing rudder, increasing ailerons, entering snaps rud/elev then ail and exiting it by taking out elevator just before rudder and aileron.... but to no avail. plane still exits the snaps pitch up and slightly to the right.
what else could i try doing?

Increase Ail
decrease or take out elevator
adjust rudder throw till the airplane has good snap speed prob med or high rate on that design.
adjust c/g back for the pich problem along with elevator input adjustement
without these adjustments you will not be able to do this manuver
you will also find your other snaps will improve also
ail should be between 15-18 deg throw 10-12 deg elev throw ....may-be none on the downline snap
hope this helps ,,, let us know !

Poypoy,

Try to do a negative snap instead of positive or hold opposite rudder on the downline prior to entering the snap.

thanks guys for your snappy response, no pun intended.

I refered to the 2008 FAI sporting code and indeed, there was no mention wether the snaps are positive or negative for manuever#9. and perhaps, a negative snap would be a solution.

Bryan, I will still try out your suggestions for this particular plane.

By the way, I will be competing with my shinden (still in transit from the US) in our Asia regional contest and from comments i picked up from the shinden thread, i think this plane will fare out very well in the snap and spin category.

I dont wish to complicate the p-o9 schedule, but another concern of mine are the half rolls. unless specified as reversing, is it safe to assume that the half rolls (particularly in the triangle loop) be done in any direction... or should it be the same direction as of the first half roll?

Hi
As long as the manoeuvre-description is not stating the rolls must be this or that way related to another roll, you can roll either direction within a manoeuvre

Try:

f3a.prop.at/2008/P09.ppt

I have one presentation translated to English and can send if anyone want or, better, upload somewhere.

another question being is for the 1st manevour.....after the 2/4 or full roll part....do i begin immediately after the roll or can delay for slightly a while before hitting on the radius ? found that with a slight pause made the manevour look too big but smoothly.....

"the outside half loops begin immediately after the 2/4 pt and full roll ....and the lenght of the upper horizontal line , including the rolls ,is equal to the diameter of the half loops." - This is from the FAI sporting code... & also vividly displayed in lineu (mingu-rcu)

Thanks Bryan, i have solved my snap problem as you suggested, ..by increasing my aileron throws, giving just enough (not full) elevators and rudder. I did both positive and negative snaps and i found the negative snaps much more to my liking.
