This topic has been discussed from time to time here. Because of the ever changing marketplace , what simulator have you discovered to perform best for the upper classes of pattern ? I've been told that Aerofly Professional Deluxe is quite good. Suggestions and comments appreciated.

I have Reflex XTR and Aerofly Pro Deluxe. I use AFPD for pattern if for no other reason than you can get a background for it that has a grid on it.

I tried Realflight G4, AFPD, Reflex and Phoenix RC. Realflight is quite good and you can find a few pattern planes to download, the only problem i had was with the vertical lines. Somehow the plane always pulled to one side or another during the verticals. I calibrated my controller many times and i also tried to adjust the engine side thrust, but i didn't notice any effect.
Phoenix RC was my final choice; you can download the ZN Line Alliance model on the official page and it flies very well. It just needs a little more power, but you can edit the model and add more thrust. The landing is not very realistic; the model floats at incredible low speed for a 5Kg plane, but my purpose was to practice pattern flying, and Phoenix RC does this quite well.

I also use Phoenix RC but as soon as you go into a vertical you lose sight of the ground. I'm not sure if there's a setting to alleviate the peripheral vision issue but it makes it hard to see the shape of your manoeuvre or if you are truly vertical...
I found the ZN Alliance needed more throws on rudder and elevator to get a spin happening too..
Cheers

Can anyone add a couple 45 degree lines to the grid? The 45 degree sequences at the end of the box would benifit.

it doesn't quite look like it in the picture, but Farmland -Grid does have 45 uplines......
I use it to Practice IMAC all the time
