Futaba FASST Rx inside Fuselage with Carbon Parts
Hi,
I am about to install a Futaba FASST 608 Rx in my Integral. Since this plane has some carbon parts I would like some recommendations is possible on how to install it as I don't have any experience with this system.
Would you install the Rx on the carbon tray illustrated? This is where the PCM receiver is currently installed.
Thans and regards,
Nikos

You should be able to put your new FASST receiver in the same location no problems. Just keep the antennae from touching the carbon parts and go fly. My Black Magic has tons of carbon..the entire canopy is carbon and my receiver sits right under it..no problems at all. I was told by Frank Noll, Team Manager for Team Futaba, just install the FASST receiver in the same location as your old receiver and you wont have any problems. I did in my pattern stuff, as well as my 40% stuff, and zero problems. My new Krill Katana has tons of Carbon Fiber around the receiver area and zero problems.

Nickolas, there is no problem, just keep the antennas 90° to each other and away from the carbon.

hey Niko,
i was experementing wit fast today. was wraping the antenas in carbon and never got a red light.
more over my kitchen is 2 walls aways from my room one of which is a main wall made of 70cm of concrete, i i took my controller and stuck it in the kitchen fridge, set to range check mode. guess what ! all worked perfectly.
i guess fasst signal loss is all about heat.
ps coming to greece on the 9th

RE: Futaba FASST Rx inside Fuselage with Carbon Parts
Hi,
Thanks for the replies, this how I installed the Rx finally, I did some ground tests during the weekend and finally flew the model. No issues at all during the flight, my model needs trimming as the weather conditions (too windy) did not allow for fine tunings. Anyway I can get at the ground range mode test more than 100 steps which is fine.
It seems to be working ok, I don't think it was too risky to test the system for the first time in a good model such as Integral.
Alex give me a call when you arrive, let's go fly next weekend ok?
Thanks and regards,
Nikos

Nickolas
The same receiver is being used for my gasoline Integra.
It cannot be a problem.
Good job.
