Default flying upright

hi all

have been thinking. when you are flying upright in a straight line, do you hold little on the elevator or is it hands off perfect.
in the previous season i flew hands off. this season however wit a new plane i decided to try a few new things like holding the plane in both
up right and inverted flight but can decide if its doing me any good. whats your opinion on this matter

thanks
Alex

I fly aerobatics with sink and have for the best part of 49 years. Others may fly flat.
It really depends upon the pilot's choice.

The Blues (Blue Angels) fly with pronounced sink. Reason, you always have to fly the aircraft as there is no neutral zone.

I find it an advantage to have the aircraft always 'on' my command rather than slopping around in some "neutral" position and then having to react to outside forces I.E. wind changes, crosswind etc. etc.
No question that it is more taxing for the pilot _____ that's the idea !

I am always trimmed out for perfectly level flight at my desired speed.

Trimmed for straight verticals and downlines, then the aircraft gets whatever it needs for either upright or inverted, however using Brian Herberts methods, it's pretty well close to zero for most of it.

I like it just a slight sink therefore do not need to apply any down for loosing altitude or landing, do so with throttle. Naturally down required for certain maneveurs.

I think this is kind of a feel thing as well. I naturally the way I hold my transmitter apply a slight bit of back pressure on the stick. Therefore anytime someone flies my planes, it usually requires 1 to 2 clicks of up for them. The plane trims fine because it hold it in no matter what the attitude of the plane. I've done this for years and something I've gotten used to. I certainly dont hold as much in it as I do when the plane is inverted for down. Just the way I hold my transmitter.
