Hey Guys,
I just wanted to put out a reminder that the Andersonville contest will be coming up in about a month. Come and practice on Friday, then stay for the contest on Saturday and Sunday (June 5-7th, 2009). Also, there will be a judging seminar held on Saturday night, after the contest concludes for the day. For those of you going to NATS, you will want to stay for this. RVP will be leading the class.
If anyone is not familar with this contest and needs any info, please let me know. I hope to see you there! You can find directions to the field and information for nearby hotels by going to Mac's website... http://www.hodgeshobbies.com/
Thanks,
Emory

Hey Emory,
Chris will be there, but I will not be able to make it. This really sucks and the way things are I may never witness a NATS. I wish they would move the NATS to September then I could go. That sounds like it may be a little selfish. I hope everyone has a good time.

The Jameson Inn in Americus continues to be a little cheaper than the Holiday Inn Express right next to it. If you go to the Jameson website, they have a $5 off per night coupon that you present at check-in that makes things a little cheaper yet. Most of the other hotels there are to be avoided. Read the online reviews first...

OK Guys,
This is a less than 1 week notice. Our contest will be this coming weekend (June 6th-7th, 2009). I hope lots of folks can show up. Right now, the weather looks good and hopefully will stay that way. I did not get out a flyer this year. But in years past we have hada pilots meeting around 8:30 am or so and then started flying soon thereafter. Also, we have generally flown the FAI "P" sequence on Saturday and the "F" on Sunday. We will count your best 3/4 "P's" and your best 1/2 "F".
There is camping avaliable at the field with hookups (no sewer, but it does have water and electric). A list of local hotels can be found at Hodges Hobbies website... http://www.hodgeshobbies.com/
Again, if anyone has any questions or needs any help, please let me know.
I do have a favor to ask... Can some of you bring your Easy-up tents? I had two of them, but one had to be thrown away and the other should be. I would like to set these out for the judges.
Thanks,
Emory

Ah, one other note...
The judging seminar will be held at Ryan's Steakhouse in Americus, GA. We have a room reserved from 6-9pm.
The plan will be to shuffle over there after flying is concluded for the day, whatever time that is. We will eat first and
then get into the judging seminar, which will be lead by Ron Van Putte, John Fuqua, and Jon Lowe.
Thanks again,
Emory

After a long while of not having my own plane to fly, it looks as if I will be flying my new V3 this weekend. I still have some work to do on it but I have been chugguing away at it since returning from Prattville. Man, I just didn't remember how slow I am at covering. What a pain. I hope I will get to test fly on Friday.

Emroy,
It's starting to sound like I'm going to have to send the Focus up to Andersonville for you Emory. Hell if I don't get Chris's stabs done he's going to be flying it too.

masters Jon Lowe made 2 flights that I feel were the best he has flown all year. Humberto (sp) doing very well leading the show in masters. Emory doing well with a borrowed plane in masters.
Jas. well out front in fai with AC and Mikael in tow, but holding their own.
not sure about the rest ...i don't look at the board for myself until the wood has been given out..
