Great contest. Yes we got kicked around but there was some really good flying and I was happy with everything that went on.
Kudo's to Ray Morton and Bobby Satalino for organizing and running a really nice affair. Everything went smooth.
I hope D5 can somehow pull in some better numbers next year as we were missing some of our usual ranks.
Thoughts:
Mike Klein who I had never met is a fantastic pilot and won FAI against a much improved Mark Atwood. Both of these guys are going to do well at the Nats and are a real asset to the midwestern pattern scene.
Andrew Jesky is to be applauded for his ability to attend on Sunday and he put on a clinic on how pattern should be flown. His skills are thru the roof but better yet he's a nice guy and has a great attitude. He's very determined to be ready for the worlds in August and his new Spark has the ability to maximize his unlimited skills.
FAI flew the P09 on Saturday and the F09 on Sunday and I like the mix.
Number of flyers was down a bit with 23 total but it was because a lot of theusuals had scheduling conflicts. Weather was near perfect foronce as thiscontest often has bad conditions.
The AMA were great hosts and thanks to Joyce from the AMA for all her help.
Thanks to everyone who made this so much fun. Mike Mueller NSRCAD5VP

Sorry for not posting pics sooner but I just got them loaded on my computer.
The contest was a little light on contestants but fun was had by all. I was only able to make it Sunday so I missed the Saturday flying but more importantly the Saturday night activities. Ray and all the others did a great job getting the contest running smooth. There were a few things that had to get changed on the fly but everyone was great about helping out where they could.
It was great to see everyone from D5. Even though they did not bring enough people to take back the District trophy which will stay in D4 another year.
If people have some pictures please post them on this thread.
