Default Carbon Fiber Honeycomb

I've seen lots of pictures and posts of planes with carbon fiber honeycomb panels used for bulkheads and servo trays. What size panels are you guys using, 1/8" or 1/4"?

Thanks,
Dave

Hey Dave,

For everything but firewalls, use 1/8". Firewalls should be 1/4". Be sure that you sink in some dowels in the locations where your bolts will pass through for your motor mount, otherwise you run the risk of crushing the material.

Thanks Ryan.

I hadn't considered using it for the firewall but that sounds interesting. I figured 1/8" was plenty for the rest of it but since I've never used the material I figured I'd check around first.

Thanks,
Dave
