Hi, guys can I plug the YS CDI unit into my futaba R608fs rx, so I can use only one NiCAD 1500mah battery. Is this setup safe or glitchfree. How many flights can a 1500mah battery make? Thanks.

Yepe,
I have been running my CDI plugged directly into my receiver for about 4 months now. I have had no glitches whatsoever. I am running the new Hyde LRI mount and am using between 200-250mah per flight depending on conditions. I did a LOT of testing on exactly how much I was putting back in. I am running LiPo batteries with Ed Alt's dual regulator setup for redundancy. I would fly a flight or two and then recharge the pack with a charger that you can monitor how much you are putting back in. Also, if you start having engine problems, it could be that the NiCD's do not deliver enough current for the engine at high RPM's. It will probably work fine, but just something to be aware of,
